Dragonchain Creates New Venture To Put Elections On Blockchain Via Smart Ballots

A Return to Voting Integrity

Smart Ballots uses Dragonchain's patented interoperability technology, Interchain, to interop with traditional voting machines, paper ballots, or any combination of the two.

The blockchain-based voting system uses Dragonchain's hybrid platform to record votes to Smart Ballots' blockchain. Proof of the vote is then decentralized to Bitcoin and Ethereum and a report is generated. Proof reports can be analyzed during and/or after the close of voting to show indisputable evidence that all votes are legitimate and haven't been compromised. Proof of the vote is secured with tens of millions of dollars of security applied daily and about four billion dollars within a year.

With the additional use of Factor, Dragonchain's Decentralized Identity product, voters retain control over their own personally identifiable information (PII) when registering and voting. Information such as age, citizenship, and residency can be grouped into a certificate for the voter to prove eligibility.

With the vote disassociated from the voter, an open-source audit allows for anyone to independently audit the vote without exposing the voters' personally identifiable information or their actual vote. Individual voters can independently audit the vote to confirm their vote was counted accurately.
